UK Dairy Day 2023 - Entries OPEN!!

24th July 2023

Entries are now open for the National Ayrshire show which will once again be part of UK Dairy Day.

The show will take place on Wednesday 13th September and as usual, there will be a team of young breeders on hand to help.

If you have entered cows and would like the young breeders team to look after them, please let the office know how many you have entered as soon as you submit your entries.

We are pleased that all cattle entries and stalls will remain free of charge, however, we are introducing a deposit fee system for booking stalls this year. A fee of £50 per stall will be charged at the time of booking, with all occupied stalls being fully refunded after the show. One additional stall will be allocated to each exhibitor free of charge for feed and tac to be stored, so do not include this in your total on the form.

Please ensure that you return your stall booking form to the cattle office to [email protected] by Friday 4th August.

All exhibitors are required to ensure that every animal entered is BVD Free. They either need to reside in a herd accredited free of BVD by a CHECS approved cattle health scheme or, at any time in their life, have been tested individually on a blood, milk, or tissue sample for evidence of the BVD virus, with a negative result.

All animals must also be pre-movement tested despite the location of their holding of origin. Please supply a copy of your TB Certificate & BVD results to the Cattle Office prior to arrival at the venue.

If you are planning to exhibit, it would be wise to book your accommodation as early as possible as hotel rooms usually become limited. For a list of hotels go to www.ukdairyday.co.uk/visit/accommodation/. If you quote ‘Cattle Rooms 2023’ to The International Hotel, they will offer their discounted rate.

We are very grateful that NWF Agriculture has once again kindly agreed to sponsor the cattle infrastructure and free breakfast rolls for cattle exhibitors.
