Annual Conference - Thats A Wrap!!

22nd May 2023

A great time was had by all that attended the Annual Conference and AGM in sunny Derbyshire.

On Monday we held the AGM, Congratulations to all our photographic, Star Brood & LP100 award recipients and to A&S Lawrie, Cuthill Towers for winning the Haresfoot Vase and to J Adamson & Son, Swaites for reserve.

We are grateful to Zoe & Aled from Pruex for being our principal sponsor and for taking time out to spend the week with us.

After the AGM the alternative programme took their hand to needle felting with the amazing  Lou May Crooks from By Hook or by Crooks. The farm visit went to Tessvale by kind permission of Chris and Andrea Adams where we saw a great field of relaxed cows enjoying the Derbyshire grass & sunshine. The evening entertainment was by the Buxtons Greatest Quizmaster, Paul Jenner.

Day two of the conference took the first farm visit to Heydale by kind permission of DW Berresford & Son where the cows were on fine form. David and Charlotte Gibson provided a fabulous lunch and hospitality at their very successful Cow Shed & Farm Shop. Next stop was the Whitecroft herd by kind permission of The Broadley family where the cows are a credit to the dedication of the whole family.

The alternative programme went on a tour of Buxton Opera House and Pooles Cavern which was very interesting. The entertainment for the night was from the Skylight Band who soon got delegates up to dance.

The Wednesday farm visits took us to Bigginvale by kind permission of The Adams family, where the cows are a credit to the whole family. Next was Alkmonton by kind permission of the Harris family where an impressive set up was enjoyed.

The alternative programme had free time to look round Bakewell and then on to Tissington Hall.

The evening finished with a sale conducted by Mark Davis and Charles Hanson, the details of which are below.

Thank you to all our sponsors, hosts and delegates for a fantastic week. Finally thank you to Whitecroft Ayrshires, Andrew & Caroline for looking after us so well, their hospitality and attention to detail.
