Young Sires in the Spotlight

If you are looking for some exciting young sires to use in your breeding program then some of these may be of intrest to you.
The first sire is Beeline Santa Rock who is the highest PLI young sire available from Cattle Services. Santa Rock has an exceptional rating of £354 PLI. This son of Kamouraska Rockstar is bred from an EX92 Jelyca Oblique from the outstanding Ladybird family at Halmyre. The family has generations of high producing cows. Alongside his superb PLI rating , Santa Rock has an exceptional prediction of 438kg of milk with positives for both fat % and protein %. He is also predicted to breed great looking daughters with an overall Type Merit rating of 1.28.
If you want high producing long lasting cows then Ravenhill Victory is a sire that well help you to achieve this. This son of Rosehill Vitality has predictions of 476kg of milk and a PLI rating of £338. It is also intresting to note that alongside this great prediction for production he is also a positive fat % sire. Bred from fantastic Ethel family at Ravenhill. His dam Ethel 350 (sired by Celandine First Lord) has had 8 calves, his grand dam Ethel 250 has produced over 80 tonnes of milk. As well as being great production cows the dam and grand dam average 91 points.
The final sire in the spotlight is Troutbeck Skyfall who is bred from the famous Miss Modem family at West Mossgiel, Skyfall is a maternal brother to West Mossgiel Modern Reality. Skyfall is sired by Palmyra Tr Star Budette, and out of West Mossgiel Miss Modem 5 who was classified EX93 and completed 7 lactations averaging 7,813kg at 4.7% fat and 3.6% protein. Skyfall has predictions of 1.24 for Type Merit, alongside a PLI rating of £298. The first daughters of Skyfall are due to calve in 2018.
