Biddesden Hector is a New Release sire who offers breeders a total outcross from many of todays genetics. He is the result of a mating that has been done by the UK Ayrshire Breed Heritage program.
This is what they have had to say about him :
Breeders asked for an outcross.
Breeeders asked for a grazing specialist.
Breeders asked for a cow family with a natural will to milk.
Baillifscourt Hortense 267 EX93 2E is a cow that fits the criteria asked for by those breeders. A cow from a low input herd who consistently outperformed her herd mates year on year and has longevity and excellent type from a solid family. At 13 years of age now and in a higher production herd the production from Hortense 267 has also increased and she looks as good as ever.
Stretton Triple Prime was used as the sire as he too produces daughters with a natural will to milk. Although he is an older sire, his figures still stack up well in todays evaluations with +265 kgs milk. Stretton Triple Prime was bred from a very similar family to the Hortense's (Stretton Primrose) who aslo had a natural high production and superior type. The result is a sire (Biddesden Hector) who can be used on all of todays modern bloodline with confidence that the breeding is full of natural production with outstanding type. We are confident that daughters will be aggressive grazing cattle that will last, maximising profit year after year.
