A four-year-old cow who remains unbeaten after three consecutive outings at one of Australia’s leading Ayrshire shows, was named Champion cow at the 2008 Sydney Royal Easter show.

This popular Ayrshire cow, Regal Park Shower VG88, then won the Reserve All-Breeds title in a close tussle with the champion Jersey – both the Ayrshire and the Jersey cows tied on points when the judges votes were counted, with the Jersey winning on a count back because of she received one extra first placed vote.

In early June, your President, George Templeton, and myself boarded the early morning flight from Manchester to Helsinki in Finland where we were representing your Society as delegates at the 2008 World Ayrshire Congress. George had been to Finland before when he judged there in 2005, but for me it was a first, and I couldn't wait to be there and see for myself, this country and its people and cows.
