Unfortunately due to the passing of John Jones the dinner and prize giving for 2009 herds competition was not held.  Instead, a stock judging day was held and the results announced at the same time.  In the stock judging we saw two great classes of cows and heifers at Philip and Thelma Jeffries’ Penrhalt herd near Welshpool.  I would like to thank them both for their kind hospitality and a great lunch.  Our herds competition judge was Mr Adrian Tomlinson who also judged the stock judging.

Our annual dinner & dance took place at the end of April and we were pleased to welcome Mr Mark Evans from Devon for a second time, as he had travelled up last year to judge our herd competition and was invited back to be our guest speaker for the evening.  We enjoyed another excellent meal at The Bluebell Inn, Tissington and the results of the previous year’s competitions were given out.  The evening concluded with dancing to a ceilidh band.
