Third Annual Ayrshire Sale Held At Exeter Livestock Centre

The third annual sale of Ayrshires on behalf of the South West Ayrshire breeders was held held at Exeter Livestock Centre on the 11th May 2012.

Lawrie & Symington Spring Dairy Show & Sale 2012

Lawrie & Symington Ltd held their Spring Show & Sale of pedigree dairy cattle on the 4th May 2012.  The pre-sale show was judged by Mr R Wilson, Mayfield Farm, Castle Douglas.  The reserve champion was from Messrs J Adamson & Son, Swaites Farm, Pettinain.  She was by Sterndale Rosman Red and was purchased by Hugh Watson & Co, Laigh Tarbeg, Ochiltree for 1900 gns.  Messrs Adamson also sold Swaites Bubbles 2 by Swaites Duport by 2100 gns.

Pedigree Dairy Show & Sale - 18th April 2012

Topping the Ayrshire trade on the 18th April at Harrison & Hetherington was a fantastic bull consigned by David & Christine Sanderson, Thackthwaite Hall, Wigton selling for 3,400gns to F A Brown & Son of Halfway House, Lancashire. The well named Sanderson Nick was sired by Sanderson Break Away and bred from Middle Georgette MM EX95 3E twice Grand Champion at the Cumberland Show and regarded by many as one of the best cows in the breed.

Coloured Breeds Sale See Ayrshires Top Sale At 2700 Gns

The Annual Spring Sale of Coloured Breed Dairy Cattle took place at Beeston Castle Auction, Cheshire on Friday, 20th April resulting in an almost total clearance, several high prices and generally a very good trade. There were plenty of buyers in attendance with cattle going to farms from Scotland to South Wales as well as Northern Ireland.

Inaugural Technicolour Show & Sale At Lanark Auction Mart

Lawrie & Symington held their Inaugural Technicolour Show and Sale on Friday 30th September 2011. Despite experiencing perhaps one of the most summers like days of the year that reduced numbers forward, the cattle forward were of great quality and were well received by the busy ringside. The pre-sale show was judged by Mr Callum Innes, Drumduan Farm, Nairn.

Ayrshires Top 9000 gns at Acton Dispersal Sale

The dispersal of virtually the entire ACTON Herd of Ayrshires took place at Beeston Castle Auction on Friday, 9th September on behalf of John Tomlinson of Church Farm, Acton, Nantwich who was selling due to his current illness. What an amazing day it proved to be with incredible prices being achieved for animals in all age groups. The cattle were of the highest quality with many having great depth of pedigree; many too had graced the showring with considerable success which also helped to attract more people to the sale. 

South West All Breeds Sale At Exeter Livestock Centre

Bidding was brisk at Exeter Livestock Centre for the collective sale of over 130 head, almost all 100% Ayrshire, with consignments from Messrs Nicholls (Hilltown); East Church Partnership (East Church); Messrs Roskilly (Trenhayle); Mr Tevor Howe (Gadles); Messrs Marnham (Warmhill) and others.
