Registrations

Officers were pleased to report that registrations had increased in numbers on the same period the previous year and it was hoped that this trend would continue.  A large percentage of members were now registering either via Telereg or the Internet and Council members were asked to encourage those not yet migrated to do so as soon as possible.  Of course there will always be the odd animals that for one reason or another cannot be processed through Telereg and these could still be registered via the Society office.  It is a much less daunting task for the breeder if animals are registered on a regular basis rather than leaving them for a long period and getting bogged down with a huge batch of animals to do.

Finance

The Finance Convenor reported that we are on budget for the year, however this is only with careful monitoring of income and expenditure and this will continue, particularly as we are not in a position to rely on income from financial investments in the current climate.  The properties at Racecourse Road are all fully tenanted with a guaranteed income for the next couple of years in the first instance.

World Federation

South Africais hosting the 2012 Ayrshire World Conference from 22 April to 9 May 2012 and invite us all to join in a packed itinerary showing how to market Ayrshire milk, from Johannesburg, Drakensberg Mountains, Cape Town, Garden Route, Victoria Falls through to the Chobe Game Reserve.  This includes farm visits to some of the largest herds in the world, shows and events.  Further details will be announced at a later date.
