Ulster Ayrshire Breeders Club - Winter 2010

The  Jeffries and Oultram families made us very welcome for our day trip. We were blessed with a lovely day and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Wales. It was good to visit two pure herds and see cows from the older tried and tested sires making a real impact at the Jeffries’. What a job trying to pick the best cows at Steve Oultram’s,  there were so many to choose from. Congratulations to Thomas Gordon and Raymond Stewart winners of this competition.

Matthew Service and Hew Howie spent three days with us judging our herds competition. Results are as follows:
Small Herd - 1-R Emerson, 2-T Gordon, 3-R Stewart
Large Herd - 1- A McCaw, 2-J Suffern, 3-J Drummond

Antrim Show was once again a resounding success with a tremendous display of Ayrshire cattle. The junior presentation class seems to get bigger every year, a good prospect for the future. Judging was in the very capable hands of Mr George Templeton who picked Ravenhill Ethel 384 from John Suffern as his Champion.
