North West Ayrshire Breeders Club - Winter 2010
On 25th June we had our annual day out at the Royal Highland Show which still seems to be quite popular. Every year we get people joining us from outside the Club which is good as it helps to keep the costs down. Everyone had a very enjoyable day.
On a lovely Sunday morning on 8th August the North West hosted the Slater Cup at Mark Partington’s which was quite well attended, with Shropshire winning, North West coming second and third place going to Derbyshire. We would like to thank Robert Adams for being master judge and also thanks to Mark and Marie for hosting the event and providing lunch.
In early August we had the Society Vice-President, Margaret Howie, judging the Herds Competition. We are grateful to her for giving her time to judge.
On 31 August one of our founder members, Albert Pye, celebrated his 90th birthday. Even though Albert no longer milks, he is still a keen and active member of the Club and we wish him all the best for the future.
Great Eccleston Show had Ayrshire classes this year, for the first time in many, and it was good to see they had 11 entries, with Ian Patrick taking Champion and Reserve Ayrshire.
